Quick Post

Lab internals, weekend classes in Microsoft and long X-box gaming sessions after that and add to that the sify night-only play! My internet time has somewhat reduced this week 😦 Here’s the gist of latest news I found online..

What if Matrix ran on Windows – a nice video created by a College students..

Got attendance shortage in 2 subjects – I have less than 36 classes of attendance. If there is any PESIT junior reading this, this is the PESIT’s magic attendance formula. They don’t care how %age of attendance you have actually. Just the magic number 36. Make sure you attend at least 36 classes, else you will have to run around the department to get your hall ticket.

Watched Dostana (hindi Movie) – big disappointment for me; supposedly a box office hit.

IT Crowd Season 3 has started and I am happy to see my fav serials back on air again. Started Dexter some time back, good show – but people who can’t stand gore, try to staw away from this.

Yawn Yawn.. Its 0340 hrs IST!! Very slywej[wey. adoooooozeee

Movies this week

Exams are nearing, so its movie time.

I watched quite a few movies this week. Here is the list.

1. Psycho (Kannada Movie)
2. Leon
3. Quantum of Solace
4. Golmaal Returns
5. The Sting
6. Rock On

Some quick words on each of these,

1. Psycho :
Slightly inspired by the original Psycho. Good plot, poorly directed. Amateur actors, out of place songs, annoying camera shakes and zooms. Watchable! (just) . 2.5/5

2. Leon, The Professional .
Watched this blu-ray-rip bold movie directed by Luc Besson. An outstanding bold movie. The story revolves around a disturbed 12 year old girl (Methilda) who loses her family she couldn’t care less about, except for her brother. She starts living with Leon, a professional killer who teaches her  the tricks of his trade. Later, She sets out to take revenge against those who killed her brother. High Action and excellent acting by the little girl.

Rating 4/5

3. Quantum of Solace :
The new bond movie. It started with Casino Royale, and the saga continues. Full of action and misses the popular bond gadgets. All Bond gadgets are more or less like Sony’s ads! I feel this new Bond movie was somewhat inspired from the hugely popular Bourne Series – Rooftop fights, Bike chases, shaky camera work, high action fighting etc..You just can’t miss the shaky cameras. Overall a nice experience. James bond has lost his charisma, that cunningness and sense of humor he had in his earlier movies.

Rating : 3.5/5

4. Golmaal Returns : I don’t understand how Ekta Kapoor can get to make a spoof of her own productions. No story whatsoever. Short wry comedy. Excellent performance by Tushar Kapoor. There was no need of Actresses in this movie! Talent wasted !(Sarcasm intended).
Don’t expect it be like anything close to its prequel.

Rating : 2.5/5

5. The Sting :
The best movie I watched this week. This is an old one. Excellent story and direction. Its about how a con man cons an other con man joining hands with another con man to take revenge for the death of his friend who was another con man! LOL.. You are into a lot of surprises if you watch this movie, by the way which is a MUST WATCH! I won’t reveal any spoilers. Enjoy the movie.
